How to use the Remove Line Breaks
- Paste the text with unwanted line breaks
- Choose a mode: replace breaks with spaces, keep paragraphs, or remove them completely
- Copy the cleaned text
About this tool
Text copied from PDFs, old emails and terminal windows often has a hard line break at the end of every visual line. Pasted into a document or form, it looks broken. The “Keep paragraphs” mode joins the lines inside each paragraph but keeps the blank lines between paragraphs, which is usually what you want for PDFs.
Windows (CRLF), Mac (CR) and Unix (LF) line endings are all handled, and leftover double spaces are tidied up.
Frequently asked questions
Why does text from a PDF have line breaks everywhere?
PDFs store text positioned line by line, without real paragraphs. When you copy it, each visual line ends with a break. This tool rejoins those lines.
Can I keep my paragraphs?
Yes. Choose “Keep paragraphs”. Blank lines between paragraphs are kept, and single line breaks inside a paragraph become spaces.
Does it remove tabs too?
Spaces and tabs around each removed break are collapsed into a single space. Tabs inside lines are left alone.
