About UtilityBright
UtilityBright is a collection of 52 free online tools across 5 categories (text tools, developer tools, generators, random & decisions, unit converters), plus quick unit-conversion pages. We built it because simple tasks like formatting JSON, making a Wi-Fi QR code or picking a random name shouldn’t mean uploading your data, creating an account or closing pop-ups.
Privacy by design
Every tool runs as JavaScript in your browser. The site is static: there is no backend that receives what you type. Randomness for passwords, wheels, dice and pickers comes from the Web Crypto API (crypto.getRandomValues).
How we check the tools
Each tool’s core logic is covered by automated unit tests, including published test vectors (for example the MD5 and SHA test strings, EAN check digits and the JWT example token), exact unit definitions from NIST, and edge cases such as empty input, huge input, invalid JSON or Base64 and emoji. Every page is also checked in a headless browser on desktop and mobile screen sizes.
